Briefly describe the content of carbon in steel and its effect on the properties of steel
Generally, the C<2.11% in the Fe-C melt is called steel, and the C<0.02 is called industrial pure iron, so the steel C is between 0.02% and 2.11%.
The steel containing C generally has the following effects on its properties:
C hardness increases strength
toughness and plasticity decrease
weldability is poor
and corrosion is also deteriorated.
