On April 1, the 4th anniversary of the formal establishment of Hebei Xiong’an New District. During the construction of this modern new city carrying "millennium plans and national events", the steel industry has provided a solid material guarantee for the Xiong'an New District to realize its transformation from "paper" to "ground". Numerous high-quality steel products allow this The outline of the construction of the new city gradually became clear. At the meeting, market analysts interpreted the 2021 Xiongan New Area's key investment project promotion plan and steel demand. According to reports, in 2021, the Xiongan New District has entered a new stage of large-scale construction, and the demand for steel products is still strong. The demand for steel is mainly concentrated in municipal infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, residential security construction, public service facilities, and ecological environment management. etc.

Among them, in terms of high-speed railway construction, the length of railway construction including the high-speed railway passing through the Xiongan New Area has reached 1,318 kilometers, and the total project investment has reached 251 billion yuan. According to the calculation that every 100 million yuan of railway project investment can drive steel demand of 33,300 tons, the steel demand for high-speed rail construction related to Xiongan New Area will exceed 8.3 million tons this year. In terms of housing security construction, according to statistics, 80% to 90% of the buildings in Xiongan New District are prefabricated buildings. According to data from the China Construction Metal Structure Association, the amount of steel used in steel structures per 10,000 square meters is 1126.5 tons. Xiong’an New District has currently issued a controlled planning population of 1.5 million people, corresponding to a total of 52 million square meters of housing demand, and 5.86 million tons of steel demand. With regard to the construction of underground pipe corridors, the start-up zone of the Xiongan New District plans to build 30 pipe corridors this year, with a total length of 70 kilometers. According to calculations of 13,000 tons of steel used for the construction of underground pipe corridors per kilometer, the amount of steel used for construction of pipe corridors in the start-up area this year will reach 910,000 tons.

In addition, market participants have analyzed the steel price, inventory, output, demand and policy in terms of the trend of the domestic steel market in 2021. On the whole, the positive factors for the steel market this year include the maintenance of loose monetary policies at home and abroad, the room for growth in steel demand, and the easing of the contradiction between supply and demand due to limited steel output. The negative factors mainly include high inventories, high prices of raw materials and fuels. Weakened steel cost support and so on. The steel market as a whole will continue to fluctuate upwards, depending on the implementation of production restrictions in Tangshan, Hebei and the issuance of the implementation documents of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to reduce crude steel production.
