Ministry of Commerce Announces Preliminary Ruling on Anti-dumping Investigation of Imported Hydrogen Iodide Products Originating in the United States and Japan
On June 16, 2018, the Ministry of Commerce issued Notice No. 49 of 2018, which promulgated a preliminary ruling on the anti-dumping investigation of imported hydroiodic acid products originating in the United States and Japan.
The Ministry of Commerce initially ruled that there was dumping of imported iodine acid products originating in the United States and Japan. The Chinese hydriodic acid industry was substantially damaged, and there was a causal relationship between dumping and substantial damage, and it was decided that the product was originally produced in the United States and Japan. Imports of hydroiodic acid products implement temporary anti-dumping measures in the form of security deposits. According to the ruling, since June 23, 2018, when importing importers of hydroiodic acid products originating in the United States and Japan, importers should base their decision on the dumping margins (41.1%-118.8%) of the companies to the Chinese people. The Republic Customs provides the corresponding deposit.
The product is classified under the "People's Republic of China Import and Export Tariff": 28111990. The other products under this Tariff Code are not covered by this anti-dumping measure.
