Global crude steel production fell by 6% year-on-year in March

On April 22, the World Steel Association (WSA) released global crude steel production data for March. In March, the crude steel production of 64 countries and regions included in the World Steel Association statistics was 147.1 million tons, down 6.0% year-on-year. In the first quarter, global crude steel production was 443 million tons, down 1.4% year-on-year.
In March, crude steel production in Asia was 106 million tons, down 4.1% year-on-year; crude steel production in the EU was 12.03 million tons, down 20.4% year-on-year; crude steel production in North America was 9.66 million tons, down 9.4% year-on-year; South America Of crude steel output was 3.26 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.4%; crude steel output in the Middle East was 3.35 million tons, an increase of 9.7% year-on-year; crude steel output of the CIS was 8.26 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.2%.
In the first quarter, crude steel production in Asia was 315.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.3%; crude steel production in the EU region was 38.29 million tons, a decrease of 10.0% year-on-year; crude steel production in North America was 29.52 million tons in the first quarter , A year-on-year decrease of 4.0%.
From the perspective of key countries and regions, in March, mainland China's crude steel output was 78.98 million tons, down 1.7% year-on-year; India estimated crude steel output was 8.65 million tons, down 13.9% year-on-year; Japan estimated crude steel output was 820 10,000 tons, down 9.7% year-on-year; South Korean crude steel output was 5.78 million tons, down 7.9% year-on-year. Among EU countries, Germany estimates crude steel output at 2.9 million tons, down 20.9% year-on-year; Italy crude steel output is 1.37 million tons, down 40.2% year-on-year; France estimates crude steel output at 1.2 million tons, down 13.2% year-on-year; Spanish crude steel production was 1.17 million tons, down 14.6% year-on-year. U.S. crude steel output was 7.22 million tons, down 6.0% year-on-year. Russia estimates crude steel output of 5.85 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.4.%; Ukraine crude steel output of 1.77 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.3%. Brazil's crude steel output was 2.64 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.2%. Turkish crude steel output was 3.11 million tons, an increase of 4.1% year-on-year.
