Formation mechanism of VOCs in the sintering process of iron and steel industry

Jul. 16, 2018

Analysis of the formation mechanism of VOCs in the sintering process of the steel industry. It is generally believed that VOCs are mainly derived from coal combustion. Since the sintering process uses fuel, VOCs are inevitably generated. During the sintering process, VOCs are formed from volatile substances in raw fuels such as coke and oil-containing iron oxide scale, which are discharged as gases and simultaneously form dioxins and furans under certain operating conditions. The sintering pre-tropical temperature range is basically 100 ° C ~ 900 ° C, the thickness is about 100 mm ~ 200 mm, and the duration is about 10 min. As the sintering progresses, the temperature of the fuel particles rises, and the internal organic volatiles volatilize into the gas stream in a gaseous state, and move downward with the gas flow, the lower temperature is lower, and the temperature of the gas stream containing the organic volatiles is reduced after heat exchange, wherein the organic volatiles are based on The boiling point is gradually condensed. Due to the faster condensation rate, many tiny particles are formed, which is one of the causes of dust formation.
