The European Commission will impose a temporary anti-dumping duty of up to 48% on Chinese aluminum profiles

The European Commission will impose a temporary anti-dumping duty of up to 48% on aluminum profiles from China.
The committee launched an investigation in February 2020. The European Commission has now found that the sales price of Chinese aluminum extrusions in the EU is "so low that it is considered dumping and unfair competition to domestic producers."
According to relevant documents, aluminum profiles, aluminum rods, aluminum rods, and aluminum bars are included.
"For Hydro's nearly 40 extrusion plants in Europe, the anti-dumping actions will alleviate unfair competition. For our customers, this will help ensure that Europe continues to have a long-term extrusion industry. At the same time, due to the large number of competitors, the industry will still have a high level of competition," said Egil Hogan, head of Hydro Extrusion Solutions.
Aluminium Europe stated that the temporary anti-dumping duties are expected to be imposed on October 15 and the investigation will be completed in April 2021. At that time, anti-dumping duties will be confirmed as confirmed, modified or cancelled. If confirmed, it is usually kept for five years.
It is reported that in February 2020, the European Commission stated that it has launched an investigation into whether China has dumped aluminum profiles, which are widely used in EU transportation, construction and electronics industries. The announcement in the EU's official newspaper stated that the EU is processing a complaint filed in January by European Aluminium, an industrial group representing seven manufacturers. The Executive Committee stated that “the evidence provided by the content of the complaint shows that the quantity and price of imported products under investigation have a negative impact.” Euroaluminium welcomed the move and called for urgent anti-dumping duties to be imposed. The statement also stated that aluminum profiles from China have been subject to anti-dumping duties imposed by the United States, Canada, Australia and Vietnam.
