In March, the CSCR (activated carbon selective catalytic reduction) desulfurization and denitrification project of Hegang Steel Sintering Machine was officially put into use. The project adopts the countercurrent CSCR technology introduced by Hegang Steel in China for the first time, which enables the ultra-low emission of Hegang Steel.

On May 16, Shougang Langze's 45,000 tons/year industrial tail gas bio-fermentation fuel ethanol project was successfully commissioned in Shougang Jingtang.
On May 3, the No. 3 system of the flue gas desulfurization and denitrification project of the sintering machine of Angang Iron and Steel Plant realized the all-pass flue gas operation. Angang became the first company in the industry to achieve full dry flue gas treatment.

On June 29, Shen Wenrong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shagang Group, revealed that Shagang will invest 7 billion yuan to 8 billion yuan in two years or so to comprehensively promote environmental protection and rectification.
On August 8th, the national key research and development plan project “Key technology of the whole process control coupling of flue gas and multi-pollutant in the steel industry” sub-project “High-temperature flue gas circulation grading purification and waste heat utilization technology and demonstration” demonstration project——Hegang Steel The demonstration project of the sintering flue gas recycling project started, which is the first in China.
On August 15, Shangang determined the overall goal of pollution prevention and control: By 2020, all units of Shansteel must meet the emission standards of air pollutants in the fourth period of Shandong Province and the ultra-low emission standards of the steel industry.
On August 16, Jiangsu Changzhou Development and Reform Commission announced the list of the first batch of low-carbon demonstration units in Changzhou, and Zhongtian Steel was among them. On August 23, Maanshan Iron and Steel announced the three-year action plan for ultra-low emission transformation. On April 12th, Maanshan Iron and Steel Cold Rolling Plant implemented a long-term environmental protection system.
On September 13, the Sponge City Research Center of Wuhan University signed a cooperation agreement with Wuhan Iron and Steel Green City Construction and Development Co., Ltd. to jointly establish a joint laboratory for sponge city construction.

On October 26th, the key project of ultra-low emission reform of Taigang – No. 9 coke oven flue gas desulfurization and denitration unit was completed and put into operation, achieving ultra-low emission; on November 24th and 28th, Taigang No.8 and No.7 Jiao The flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices are put into operation separately, and the environmental protection indicators are superior to the national special emission limit requirements. At this point, the three-seat 7.63 m coke oven flue gas desulfurization and denitrification upgrading of Taigang Coking Plant was completed.
On October 26, the stoppage and blasting operations were stopped at the stoppage of the limestone mine in Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Anshan Iron and Steel Co. Before the end of 2018, the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Mine will partially withdraw from the cycad protection zone; by the end of 2019, the cycad protection zone will be fully withdrawn and ecological restoration will be implemented.
On November 29th, Shougang Co., Ltd. realized zero emissions from the top of the blast furnace.
