Consultation on Ultra Low Emissions Renovation Work Plan for Iron and Steel Enterprises-Part 1

We got some news that The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has recently solicited opinions on ultra-low emission reform work plans for steel companies. The “Ultra-low Emissions Renovation Work Plan for Iron and Steel Enterprises (Exposure Draft)” (hereinafter referred to as the “opinion”) proposes that iron and steel enterprises with the conditions to implement ultra-low emission reforms, and strive to complete the transformation of steel production capacity by 480 million tons by the end of 2020 By the end of 2022, 580 million tons had been completed, and by the end of 2025, the transformation would have completed about 900 million tons.
The Ministry of Ecology and Environment emphasized that the implementation of ultra-low emission reforms of iron and steel enterprises is an important measure to promote industrial transformation and upgrading, improve the quality of the atmospheric environment, and eliminate excessive production capacity in the steel industry. It is also conducive to expanding investment, promoting technological innovation and promoting the high-quality development of the steel industry.
We know that in past years, steel industry is based on coal consumption, thus will cause some certain of environmental problems. Although nowadays, most of steel industry uses gas instead of coal. But we still should pay heed to every aspect which may have damage to our blue sky.
