Chinese steel should focus on four issues in the future
May. 31, 2018
In the future, the steel industry must focus on four major issues.
First, the excessive growth of crude steel production will bring greater pressure on the market this year. In recent years, member iron and steel enterprises have achieved certain results in strengthening self-regulation, and advantageous companies have accumulated some experience in playing their role as market players. However, since the beginning of this year, the non-member company's steel production has increased significantly, which poses a large downward pressure on the market.
The second is profit-driven capacity expansion. Some companies have violated the regulations or have come up with electric stoves. The re-emergence of “Grid Steel” and the problem of overcapacity have not yet been completely resolved.
Third, the United States adopted trade protectionism measures and severely undermined the rules of the WTO, resulting in an increase in trade frictions between China and the United States. This made China's steel export environment more complex this year and increased the uncertainty of steel exports.
Fourth, the environmental protection measures in individual regions have been over-enveloped and law enforcement has “allow no flexibility” phenomenon, which has an impact on the normal production and operation of enterprises.
At the same time, frequent notifications of limited production and production cuts have caused great difficulties for the production organizations.
