Chinese steel industry still have a long way to go

China's steel industry has achieved 40 years of reform and opening up, but in Xu Kuangdi's view, China's steel has not yet reached the position of leading the world's steel.
"China's steel is still far from the world's advanced level in terms of quality, efficiency and management." Xu said.
“China’s steel industry has an absolute advantage in terms of total volume, and now accounts for about 56% of world steel production. This situation will continue to have serious excesses.” Xu Kuangdi is worried. “Because there are three reasons for affecting steel production, the basis is Construction, manufacturing, national territory."
Throughout the history of world steel development, after the Second World War, the steel industry in Japan and Germany developed rapidly, but now the annual steel output is only half of the highest period. Because of post-war reconstruction, a large amount of infrastructure is needed, and infrastructure construction is an important driving force for steel demand. The second driving force for steel is manufacturing, but the industrial structure has seriously affected steel demand. If it is made of automobiles, ships, industrial equipment, and exported to all parts of the world, these proportions of consumption of steel will be relatively large, but if it is like French GDP, mainly relying on luxury goods, high-end clothing, cosmetics, although the steel output is only over 10 million tons. But per capita GDP far exceeds us. China will not follow the path of France, but with the improvement of people's consumption level and appreciation, the structure of the manufacturing industry will certainly change. The third is that China has a vast territory, a large market, and many infrastructures. The central and western regions still need to build railways, bridges, and tunnels. However, over time, demand in this area will gradually decrease, and the demand for steel will certainly decrease.
Japan and South Korea's largest steel exports are secondary exports, and steel has become a large number of exports such as automobiles, ships and household appliances. "If the steel industry is slightly extended to consumer goods, China's steel has not yet led the world." Xu Kuangdi clearly pointed out that "the key things still need to be imported. For example, China's high-speed rail is the world's leading technology, but at present, only the high-speed rail is solved. The key issues of wheelset steel and bearing steel remain unresolved."
