On January 26, the Ministry of Finance and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and other seven ministries and commissions jointly issued the "Notice on Specific Policy Issues in the Implementation of Market-Oriented Banks' Debt-to-Equity Transfers."

On March 22nd, from March 16th to November 14th, a total of 244 days of non-heating period, Tangshan will implement precise and differentiated peak production for the city's steel enterprises.

On March 27, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a formal announcement to dynamically adjust the list of steel-regulated enterprises. Among them, 19 companies were dismissed from the steel specification announcement, and 12 enterprises needed to be rectified. On December 17, the announcement on the dynamic adjustment of steel-standard enterprises was issued. Among them, 11 companies intend to revoke the specification announcement, and 17 companies are scheduled to order rectification. The publicity period is from December 17, 2018 to January 16, 2019.

On May 7, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment released the “Work Plan for Ultra-low Emissions Transformation of Iron and Steel Enterprises (Consultation Draft)”.

On June 15th, Shaanxi Province formulated and issued the “Implementation Plan for the Peak Peak Production in Shaanxi Province in 2018”.

On July 3, the State Council issued the "Three-Year Action Plan to Win the Blue Sky Defence War."

On July 10, the Ministry of Natural Resources announced the relevant situation of the 2017 national mineral resources reserves. Among them, iron ore found that resource reserves increased by 1.0%, and chromite decreased by 1.1%.

On August 17, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council convened the “Double Hundred Actions” reform of state-owned enterprises to mobilize video conferences and release the “Double Hundred Actions” list of state-owned enterprise reforms. 19 enterprises in the steel industry were selected.

On August 21, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued a letter on further standardizing support measures for steel companies.

On September 26, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of pilot projects for the integration of manufacturing and Internet development in 2018. The steel industry has 11 projects on the list.

On December 28, the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Office of the Banking Regulatory Commission issued the Notice on Launching the Pilot Work of the First Batch of Applied Insurance Compensation Mechanism for Key New Materials in 2018, and comprehensively launched the first batch of key insurance materials for 2018 pilot work.
