A few days ago, British Steel announced that it would invest 50 million pounds to upgrade its wire production line.

It is understood that British Steel's new wire equipment will produce larger sizes (up to 28 mm in diameter) and improve surface quality, micro-structure and performance.

Paul Martin, vice president of British Steel, said: "This investment will enable us to provide our customers with higher technical specifications and more diverse high-end products."

This modern wire production line was designed and installed by Primetals Technologies. The line construction project started this summer and will be put into production in the fall of 2019. Currently, the new laboratory is open and has world-class testing equipment.

Wires produced by British Steel can be used in the manufacture of tire cords, automotive springs and more.
