Today we would like to share with you some information related to Saudi imports, the most important of which is the new regulation of SABER electronic operation platform. According to the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization SASO, from June 1, 2019, the SABER electronic operating platform entered the third stage of implementation.

What is SABER?

1. SABER certification, which is a compliance assessment program for non-Saudi companies (ie, companies that export to Saudi Arabia). Therefore, for Chinese export companies, it is necessary to pay attention to the SABER certification program.

2. SABER is a new upgraded version based on the original SASO certification and a new certification accreditation program that will replace SASO certification.

3. The SABER Operating Platform is a new online certificate application system operated by SASO.

The products included in the five technical regulations of the new regulations need to be SABER certified, and some of our steels are included in the listed “metal materials for construction and their alloy products”.

Products must be registered on the SABER electronic operating platform and obtain Product CoC and Shipment CoC, otherwise they will not be cleared.

How to authenticate?

1. The first stage:

(1) Saudi Arabian local importers register products on the saber platform

(2) Submit a Product CoC application and select a certification body.
