2019 World-class steel enterprises competed in the rankings. Angang Group and other five Chinese steel companies are on the list.
World Steel Dynamics recently released the competitiveness ranking of 2019 world-class steel companies, with a total of 34 companies shortlisted. Angang Group ranked 24th with a weighted average score of 6.67, and its scores and rankings were significantly higher than last year. In addition to Anshan Iron and Steel, there are four Chinese steel companies on the list, namely Baosteel ranked 15th, “China Steel” of the 22nd, Ma Steel of 31st, and Shagang of 32nd.
Angang ranked 24th in terms of its size, proximity to downstream users, cost-cutting capabilities, iron ore, balance sheet, and labor costs, up 5 places from last year. In recent years, on the basis of traditional scale, resources, users, geography and other advantages, Angang has vigorously implemented cost competition strategies to reduce production and operation costs; established asset-liability constraint mechanism, strictly controlled asset-liability ratio; optimized human resource allocation, and improved all-factors Labor productivity, etc. The effectiveness of this series of initiatives is also reflected in this ranking, indicating that these initiatives are forming a competitive edge.
